Game Jamming 🕹️

Weird to say.. but I’ve almost been in the gaming industry for 10 years now. In all that time, I’ve never been on a “game team.” What I mean by that, is I’ve never been part of the group actually working on a game. I’ve always done support and infrastructure things. I never actually touch a game. So to get it done, I have to do it on my own time.

This last weekend, I did a 48 hour game jam. Two days to come up with a concept based on a set of prompts, and then make the whole game. I did one of these about a year ago, but I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. Fast-forward a year, and I don’t have a clue what I’m doing.

I’m not looking to win this thing, I’m very happy to just finish this on my own. So, if you’re on a computer with a mouse and keyboard and not your phone, you can check it out if you like.

This is what I’m doing for my mental health week off work I decided (was recommended to) to take. Time to reset. Clean the space around me, and pursue a hobby that work leaves me feeling too drained to enjoy.

It’s not going to make any money or anything crazy like that, but it’s a game that I started and finished in 2 days so I’m pretty proud of it.
